more about the course programme...
Besides a sense of fun, you bring a sketched design idea
or an inner desire to implement it...a photo, a description or an object...
or you let us inspire you.
We discuss your ideas or concepts,
do a bit of drawing and specify the design in stone.
Perhaps it turns outthat making a small model is helpful.
In a short introduction, we will explain
their properties and characteristics using sample stones.
We will introduce you to the traditional tools for working stone
and familiarise you with how they work and how they can be used.
Now you start with the practical realisation!
The stone you have chosen will be placed securely on a sculptor's trestle
and everyone gets their own personal tool.
We help you to transfer the drafts to the stone,
show you tricks and tips for the right cover letter, whatever,
whether it's surfaces, reliefs, ornaments or three-dimensional bodies.
We show everyone individually how to start working on the stone.
We use pointing irons and mallets to roughly expose the mould,
We then use chisels and chisels to work more finely.
You will find the right posture and a good (working) rhythm,
and get through the day relaxed and powerful.
The first successes are quickly visible and
everyone immerses themselves in their own universe.
You will forget the other participants around you and
the wonderful feeling of coming to terms with your own stone.
Time will pass far too quickly and it will be hard to
to leave the stone behind in the evening.
You will be exhausted and still feel
look forward to continuing the next day.
It is a fantastic experience to come closer to perfection and to realise
that it is possible to transform a rough cube into a good shape.
Working on the stone gives birth to new ideas
and with them the ideas of their realisation.
